Portraits: Not Available Right Now

August 25th, 2008 admin Posted in Housekeeping, Portraits | No Comments »

I don’t get many requests for portrait work but the phone does ring from time to time with the occasional inquiry.

Right now my focus is squarely on wedding photography work through the Wedding Uncommon service with my personal projects at Photo Uncommon coming in a distant second place.  With the recent addition of my awesome RAW Processing studio clients, not to mention my full-time work with Pictage, I am simply unable to schedule time to do portrait shoots outside of anything wedding related (ie: Engagement or Lifestyle Portrait Sessions).  For now the Portrait Uncommon URL will continue to redirect to my main site until such time as I feel I can again add portraits to the menu.

If you need a good portrait photographer please let me know and I will be happy to point you in the right direction.  Please specify if you want an indoor studio or freelance indoor-outdoor photographer.

Monday Meetings

August 25th, 2008 admin Posted in Housekeeping | No Comments »

It was great to see Kayti & Jon this evening whose wedding I am shooting this coming weekend!  This couple is here all the way from Seattle and I am really looking forward to the day they have planned!

After saying farewell to Kayti & Jon and a change of venues I was my pleasure to meet with Jen & Joe!  It sounds like they have a fun wedding day planned and I look forward to being a part of it!

With the addition of the studios that have jumped in and sent me events to process I am hustling to get up-to-speed with the new pace!  I am thankful for the work and have enjoyed getting the first couple of jobs wrapped up.  With three more client events to process this week and Holly & Geoff’s wedding to cull it’s going to be a busy time heading into Labor Day Weekend …and that’s the way I like it!

I’m also working on getting a couple of book layouts done and ready to present.  Amy & Jason’s should be ready in the evening - late night 8/26.  Allie & Ty’s Lifestyle Portrait book layout is scheduled to be complete the night of 8/27.

Kick It Up A Notch

August 18th, 2008 admin Posted in Housekeeping | No Comments »

I have four fantastic studios to thank for choosing me to help streamline their workflow with RAW image processing.

I also have Amy & Jason and Allie & Ty to thank for keeping me busy as I work on their books! Next week I hope to start work on Kerry & Joe’s book design. The new books have been very well received and I’m thankful for everybody who has booked me or is considering me to photograph their wedding!

2009 is active and, in case you’re wondering, inquiries have been coming in for a variety of dates as far out as November of next year. I have enjoyed working with everybody who has contacted me so far and I am looking forward setting next year’s calendar with a variety of weddings right here in the Quad Cities & all around the Midwest! If you want to sit down to speak with me I have a couple of open nights this week to meet. Call or e-mail today to schedule your appointment.

Sunday Fun

No Trespassing

No Trespassing

Some days, for me, it’s just fun to get out and shoot. A Sunday drive with no particular agenda except to stop when I saw something and shoot it. Just before shooting the image above I had a friendly Henry County resident slow to make sure everything was OK. My car was pulled off the road and he thought I had broken down until he saw the camera in my hand! Good folks. Fun day! Hope yours was good, too!

Week’s End: Housekeeping

August 15th, 2008 admin Posted in Housekeeping | No Comments »

Just a quick “thanks” to Leah & Zoran for booking me for their 2009 wedding!  A similar “thank you” is owed to my new friends Dao & Nathaniel for booking a late 2008 wedding!

Further thanks goes out to those others who I met with this past week including Amy & Jason whose wedding book design is in the works!

Meanwhile, I am also thankful to a handful of studios who are considering using me to help them with their RAW image processing needs!

With trips to Austin & Chicago in the last seven days I am thankful to be back in the Quad Cities and am looking forward to a rare weekend “off”!  Since I’m not shooting a wedding this weekend I plan to wrap up Amy & Jason’s album design as well as work on some new image galleries for the Wedding Uncommon site!  I do have a potential shoot on Sunday that, if everything works out, I’ll be posting images from later next week.

Tuesday: Home Sweet Home… for now

Chicago, Illinois

Yesterday was a lot of fun! I met with Roxy around lunchtime to discuss a July wedding and then it was off to Chicago for a photo shoot & a chance to catch up with my friends from the Pictage User Group!

Thanks goes to David & Nancy for putting me up (or, is it “putting up with me”?) last night!

Lazy Sunday

August 10th, 2008 JeffWros Posted in Housekeeping, Texas | No Comments »

Heading back to the Quad Cities today I’m a bit disappointed that they didn’t have a live band playing in the airport like the last time I came.

Keep Austin weird!
